Brindabella, daughter of the mountains: wielder of magics and keeper of secrets...

I spent ten or so hours on this; half on the picture of the woman, painting over a lot of it, and half on the hair alone. One of my favourite digital artists, =Barbiedoll, recently posted a tutorial on painting hair and I thought I'd give it a try. It didn't turn out too badly, I don't think!

You can see the details of her face and hair here: [link]

Edit: Please full view. The smaller view seems to be distorting the image somewhat! Also, made some changes to the background to correct the lighting.

Like the avatar? you should see the comic!
It's a little.. how do i put it? the edges are not smooth enough for me, it gives me a very strong impression that it was pasted over. Like you took a picture of the background then inserted the picture of the girl there.
this one is beautiful.... got to see something lovely after a long time...

Which of course it was, but I am not sure what you mean when you talk about the edges not being smooth enough. On the girl, the background, something else?

On the girl itself, as in the picture does look nice, but the fact the the girl was superimposed over the background was a little too obvious for me-_-" sorry. Especially the upper body, and I don't even have to enlarge the picture to see it, which I personally think isn't very good.
Maybe it's just that I've been looking at this for too long but I honestly can't see what you're talking about. It's true that the girl does pop a bit compared to what's immediately behind her, but that's because she's standing in different light than the background.

We might just have to agree to disagree on this one.
